What Is Sofwave?

Sofwave is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate your skin to produce new collagen and elastin. It works through the surface of the skin rather than on it, which is why there is no peeling, no bruising, and no

recovery period.

The technology is called SUPERB, short for Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam. Energy is delivered to roughly 1.5 millimeters below the surface, in the mid dermis, where collagen and elastin live. An integrated cooling system protects the outer layer of skin throughout the treatment, so the skin barrier stays intact.

Nothing is injected and nothing is cut. The lift comes from your own tissue remodeling over the following weeks.

How Sofwave Works

Ultrasound energy passes through the surface of your skin without damaging it and heats precise zones in the mid dermis. Your body reads those zones as something to repair, and the healing response it triggers drives new collagen and elastin production.

Because the change comes from your own tissue rebuilding gradually, the result develops over weeks rather than appearing overnight. That is also why it tends to read as natural. You look rested and firmer rather than treated.

What Your Scan Reveals

How We Use Sofwave at Hazany Derm

1

Early laxity, before surgery is on the table

Sofwave suits patients with mild to moderate looseness along the jawline and neck who want visible improvement without a procedure or recovery. It is a genuine option, and it also has genuine limits. If your laxity is significant, a mini face lift or mini neck lift will give you a better result, and we will tell you that directly rather than sell you a treatment that will disappoint you.

2

The brow and upper face

For a heavy or descending brow, Sofwave offers a non-surgical route to a more open upper face. It is frequently combined with neuromodulator treatment, which addresses a different part of the same problem.

3

Acne scarring, as one part of a plan

Acne scarring is a specialty of this practice, and we match the method to the scar rather than applying one technique to everything. Sofwave adds a non-ablative option to a toolkit that already includes subcision, TCA CROSS, laser resurfacing, and dermabrasion. For some patients it is a useful component of a combination plan. For others, an established scar-focused approach is the better answer, and that is the conversation we will have at your consultation.

4

Skin of color

Because the energy is delivered below the surface with active cooling above it, Sofwave is generally appropriate across a wide range of skin types. Treating skin of color safely is an area we take seriously, and your suitability is confirmed at consultation.

5

Combination treatment

Sofwave addresses laxity and skin quality. Injectables restore volume and soften dynamic lines. Resurfacing works on surface texture and tone. These are different jobs, and many patients do best with a sequence rather than a single treatment. That sequence is decided with your dermatologist, not from a menu.

What to Expect

A treatment session generally takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on how many areas are addressed. Your skin is cleansed and a clear gel is applied. Topical numbing is available, though many patients do not need it.

During treatment you will feel warm pulses as energy is delivered. Most patients describe the sensation as tolerable rather than painless. Afterward, mild redness or warmth is common and usually settles within a few hours. There is no peeling and nothing to bandage. You can apply makeup and return to your normal day immediately.

Some early tightening may be noticeable within the first few weeks, with results continuing to build as new collagen forms and typically peaking around three months. Many patients do well with a single session, and depending on your starting point and how your skin responds, a second may be recommended. That decision is made at follow-up rather than promised in advance.

Is Sofwave Right for You?

Sofwave tends to suit patients who have mild to moderate laxity, want improvement without surgery or downtime, and have realistic expectations about what a non-invasive treatment can deliver.

It is less suited to patients with significant laxity or excess skin, where a surgical approach produces a better and more lasting result. Candidacy, including any medical factors that would make treatment inappropriate, is determined at your consultation. Individual results and experience vary.

Does Sofwave hurt?

Aura is a Swiss-made 3D imaging system that creates a photorealistic digital model of your face and neck from a single scan. Multiple cameras and lighting units capture your features in a fraction of a second, and software renders them as a rotatable three-dimensional image. The system then analyzes skin condition, facial structure, and volume, mapping wrinkles, pores, red areas, brown spots, and texture directly onto the model. At Hazany Derm we use it to build treatment plans on measurement rather than estimation, and to track results objectively over time.
