What is a Forehead Lift?

A forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, enhances the appearance of one's forehead. Forehead skin loses its elasticity over time which causes unwanted lines and wrinkles. A brow lift aims to remove these unwanted features and give your forehead a more youthful appearance.

What are the different types of Brow Lift?

There are three main types of brow lifts: endoscopic brow lift, coronal brow lift, and hairline brow lift.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

For an endoscopic brow lift, your surgeon starts by making small incisions behind your hairline. By making incisions behind the hairline, the surgeon can conceal scarring underneath the hair. The surgeon places an endoscope which consists of a light and camera to locate the facial muscles and tissues. Using this information, the surgeon places an instrument through another incision to lift the forehead and anchor them using sutures or small bioabsorbable screws. Lastly, the surgeon closes the incisions using sutures or clips.

Coronal Brow Lift

The surgeon makes an incision on the top of the scalp from ear to ear. Then, the surgeon overlaps the part of the scalp in front of the incision over the part of the scalp behind the incision, lifting the forehead. The surgeon then removes the excess skin and closes the incision.

Hairline Brow Lift

A hairline brow lift is ideal for patients with receding hairlines since it avoids pulling the hairline further up the scalp. For a hairline brow lift, the surgeon makes an incision between the top of the forehead and the hairline. Then, the surgeon removes a small amount of skin and closes the incision. This procedure can leave a scar along the hairline. Though scarring may not always be visible, with scar removal procedures, scarring can be minimized and removed.

Which Browlift is Right for Me?

Each type of brow lift has its unique advantages and setbacks. Important factors to consider include skin type, skin elasticity, and age. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Hazany to determine which type of brow lift is best for your individual needs.
